Swim Meet 101
Communications regarding all Swim Team activities are done exclusively by e-mail from [email protected] so please be sure to check your e-mails on a regular basis. Please also be sure to add any email addresses you want to receive emails to your account on this FH Swim Team website.
MEET SIGN IN/OUT
Your family must declare which swim meets they wil be attending by the Tuesday before the meet so that the coaches have time to prepare the lineups with the swimmers that are available for that weekend. Please click the Edit Commitment tab for the appropriate meet on the Event page.
VOLUNTEERS
In order for the Swim Team to function efficiently, we need ALL HANDS ON DECK! In addition to running the meets, we will continue our "spirit" activities this summer. All families participating on Swim Team are required to volunteer a minimum of three times throughout the season. All families participating in meets other than dual meets, such as Don Schaub, Straehle, and Division Championships, will be expected to volunteer at those meets as well. For those families where it is difficult to volunteer on the day of meets, we are adding volunteer jobs that can be done at home during the week or at functions during the week. All job sign ups will be done thru this FH Swim Team website. There will be a "job sign up" tab associated with each meet/function requiring volunteers. There will also be a sign up for "Non-Saturday" volunteer opportunities.
MEET PROCEDURES
Swimmers should be at the pool by the assigned check-in time. If for some reason this is not possible, please communicate with the coaches and team managers so we do not pull the swimmers from event.
Meets will typically last a few hours. The order of events is IM, Free, Back, Butterfly, Breast, Relays. Younger swimmers swim first in each stroke. All meets will have concession stands, we will let you know if we are told the snacks are cash only.
